Terre Haute to Effingham

Day two of crutch life (though I'll ride again tomorrow). One of my pals broke his finger, and one of my co-leaders needed to drive today (so I would stop over stretching my calf and so I coud take medicine), so it was a full van day. We played well into the alphabet of the ABC get to know you game, posted up a nice lunch spot (where we stayed for hours), switched time zones, and visited the largest wind chimes in the world. Exciting stuff.

As much fun as I was having  chatting with Dan and Andrew, the highlight of the day was getting back on my bike for 5 miles. It may look silly to go straight from pedals to crutches, but it seems to work. Andrew and I rode 5ish miles around the great city of Effingham to test our bodies and make sure our injuries could handle the road in the coming days. I'm hoping to do at least a half day tomorrow (woot) on the way to Greenville. I'm retry grateful for medicine and rest and knowing that I can be back on the road in no time.

Tomorrow, tomorrow. It's only a day away.
