Effingham to Greenville

I got back on my bike today intending to do a half day after 2 days on crutches. I was pumped.
Rode slow with Ashton, Albrecht, & Sunny for most of the morning because wind was strong and I'm just getting my legs back.  While we were only at .03 miles, we saw a race across America cyclist who was near 100 miles since 1am, so that was ridiculous. Almost fell asleep on my bike, and so did the others, because it's week three and because it's freakin hot out.

Met/shared a lunch spot with a random cyclist going to OR. Heard a story from a local stage 4 cancer survivor who used to cycle a lot who lived next to where we had stopped. Had my first fall, whilst standing still.

After lunch, I wasn't hurting too bad so I decided to try for the whole day and had to promise folks I wouldn't push myself. With 9 miles left, sharp pain ensued and I had to hop in the van. I was bummed, but also had to remember that I had gone farther than intended, so that's a good thing.

We had dinner at a local college, some folks swam at a local pool, and then we met for town hall and played an educational game of never have I ever. I fell asleep before the game was over :(

Next up: gateway to the west. Hoping to make it all the way there on a bike rather than in a van/on the crutch.  Woot.
