Oberlin to St Francis

As previously mentioned, I woke up to a cuddle puddle with Jay and Dan. No day coud be short of awesome after this kind of wake up. Then, at breakfast, we had one of those small moments where I got chills at our team and cheesy stuff, but over breakfast we all just sat and sang and head bobbed and such to Dispatch's The General, which we had similarly sung and danced to on day 3ish in Waverly.  For some reason, moments like this kept hitting throughout the day where I realized where we are and what we're doing. At one point in the day when we were stopped at the side of the road I even looked at Ashton and said, "this is a moment" and she just looked super serious, as she normally looks when discussing food. It was, indeed, a moment.

We started out our day with an early stop, only 3 miles in, to play in some wheat while someone stretched. Just as we were about to leave, a guy pulled up and told us we could come see his plane too if we wanted. So naturally, this first stop lasted somewhere between. 30-45 minutes and was totally worth it.

We rode for a bit, but knew that lunch would not be until far later, so we stopped in a town to snack briefly. In this town, we found the most wonderful motel ever:

This day was so jam packed with goodness that I'm skipping a lot, but after our snack stop, we rode all the way to lunch where we crossed our HALFWAY mark. That's right. 1910 (official) miles down. 1910   ( official) miles to go. Considering all the random detours and reroutes, we've ridden a lot further and have a lot further to go, but it's fun to have a moment to recognize all that's done and all that's left to do.

After lunch, I realized how dehydrated I was. I kind of zoned out, and fell asleep at one of our stops. Eventually we made it back to the host, where I slept all evening. I don't understand how I could ever be tired again. Luckily, I was riding with a pretty stellar crew that could stop for any need and pushed me through (whether I was consciously pedaling or just kind of there) until the end.
